Ice climbing

Since 2006, Vír boasts a unique ice wall. It was first opened to the public by the Matuška brothers in the Autocamp "Na kopci". In 2008 it was moved under the banner of the Adrex.cz portal to a more attractive location on the right bank of the Svratka River below the Vír Dam. There it is operated to this day. The ice wall in Vír is the highest icefall in the Czech Republic and the highest artificially created ice formation in Europe! Depending on the weather, both rock towers opposite the former Rotter factory - the Great and the Small Tower - disappear under the ice in winter. The height of the rocks is about 45 meters, while the length of individual climbing routes ranges from 15 to 25 meters. For safety reasons, only experienced climbers are allowed to climb the upper parts of the wall outside normal opening hours. Thanks to artificial lighting, evening and night climbing are also possible.

If you do not have your own ice climbing equipment, you can use the services of the test center and rental Adrex Base Camp, where you will find material from all world manufacturers available in Europe.
